Central Institute of Buddhist Studies (CIBS) was established in 1959 and is a deemed university located in Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir. The institute is approved by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Admission fee can be paid via demand draft, net-banking, or cash. Demand drafts should be made in favor of Central Institute of Buddhist Studies - CIBS, with candidate details written on the reverse side. Candidates are advised to keep a copy of the payment receipt.
